Heads of UN Agencies in South Sudan participate in a radio talk show on Protection and Human Rights during COVID-19 response
Eye Radio, 24 Apr 2020
In a local radio talk show, heads of UN Agencies in South Sudan talked about the human rights and protection considerations which must be respected through this difficult time of COVID-19 response, especially the rights of vulnerable people like women and girls, persons with disability and the elderly, IDPs and refugees, who are often times forgotten. With the rapid spread of the COVID-19 pandemic globally, the needs of these population groups have become even more acute. Meeting those needs is key to safeguarding both their wellbeing today and for the future of South Sudan. The talk show had the participation of Mr. Adan Ilmi, UNHCR Representative a.i., Mr. Eugene Nindorera, OHCHR (UNMMISS Human Rights) Director, Ms. Mary Otieno, UNFPA Representative and Ms. Angelina Nyajima, HRSS South Sudan NGO Director.
